Well, today was supposed to have been a BIG day for Kindlee...it was to be her first holiday dance show...difficult to think about her not being a part of it...well, difficult for Mommy that is...Kindlee didn't remember, or even seem to care! Afterall, today she had bigger fish to fry....
Our morning was normal, lunch, then naps...after naps the older two kids were scheduled to go and play at the Olsons...how fun! I told them to go and get their clothes on and brush their hair...after awhile I hadn't seen K so I decided to check on her...I walk into the bathroom to find her with a scissor in her hands, looking closely at the mirror...all previous cut hair in the garbage...I couldn't believe it! She had done the one side entirely and was getting started on the other! I was honestly in a state of shock...how could she do that?!?!
I asked her why..."I wanted my hair shorter." FINE...tell me, I'd be happy to make an appointment for you!!! I told her I'd have to cut it short to get it evened out, "That's fine, Mom. Thanks for helping." She was so calm and matter of fact...it was almost maddening! So, off she went to her playdate with completely wonky hair. I called Chad and told him and we had a good laugh...I guess all kids need to try it at some point, right?!
While they were gone I had the chance to cuddle with Lydia while we enjoyed her new found love...Bear in the Big Blue House...or "House" as she calls it...we cuddle in together and she watched and I wrote thank you notes...it was one of those moments that you want to freeze as a Mom and hold onto FOREVER...this little darling nestled on your criss-crossed legs, leaning back against your chest...amazing.
When they got back I did Kindlee's haircut...and, of course, she looks awesome. She is just a short-haired person and honestly, I would never have dared go THAT short, but she looks adorable...very Dorothy Hammel-esque.
