During this time we were showered we more meals from dear friends...as someone who really doesn't enjoy cooking, this was definitely a blessing!
It was also the beginning of Advent and I am thankful for a wonderful husband who covered various activities for me and helped get things accomplished at the church. With the start of Advent we also have the desire to put up the Christmas trees..again, my loving husband stepped up to the plate and brought the trees in from the garage and set them up...he also lugged all the boxes up from the basement with the decorations inside. The kid's tree was the first to get decorated...they did most of it themselves with Mommy video taping/taking photos and Daddy helping with the higher parts. The cutest was when L would carry ornaments over and set them on the branches...she got especially fond of a certain spot and had a PILE of ornaments there! We helped her spread them out and put them on the branches of the tree.
During this time we also got back on track for activities...what a blessing to get our schedule back. I was still getting sick from my medications, but we had figured out how long it took for me to get 'right' again and worked around that the best that we could. The kid's patience continued to grow and that made such a difference, as well!
On the 2nd of December we had our first day of Release Time since bed rest had started...I am forever surprised at how well kids adjust...I explained why I was in the wheelchair and that was the end of it...no more questions, no more discussion, we just moved on. Amazing. Afterwards I was brought home and could hear a muffed crying...I went into the kids' room...there was L trapped beneath the Christmas tree! It had tipped and she was pinned beneath it. She was okay after a few hugs and I rigged up a string to keep the tree up! Also, interesting for L that day was that we were brought Tacos by Brandy's...and L made herself three...and ate them ALL...she seemed to love the power of being able to put her own ingredients together and then eat...so cute.
